    68 350 running rich

     



    i have a recently rebuilt 350 with about 2000 miles on it the car is running rich it blows black smoke when you first start it and also i cant seem to get the smell of gas out of the inside of car when it seats.

    What kind of carb? Has the carb been rebuilt? Have you checked the float level and drop? Check for dirt or debris in the needles and seats? Could have a bad air horn gasket. Floats could have a pin hole in them. Have you checked fuel pressure? It really sounds like a carb problem.
    It ain't broke if you can fix it.

    One more item to add to the above.......ckeck the fuel pressure.

    the carb is brand new along with itake they are both idelbrocks intake is a rpm carb is a 4 barrel
