    A good flaring tool.

     



    Lookin' for a good flaring tool, I'm looking at the Rigid 37* model 377 heavy duty for doing SS but I'm being told that it leaves scarring on the tubing. I have an Imperial Eastman now that also leaves some scarring and is really not the heavy duty for doing .035 wall SS. You guys got any favorites?

    I've got a Parker 210a, never noticed any "scarring", but then I wasn't after a mirror finish, so may not have paid enough attention. Had I been I likely would plan on repolishing after cut and bend anyway.

    I've got a Ridgid double flare tool, it works great. I got it on Ebay for $50 after shipping.

    I bought a Mastercool Universal Hydraulic Flaring set/does push-on/GM/45 deg double flare/Metric bubble flaring/ etc. Does stainless with ease. Very Costly though/ around $500.00. Still get the slight scarring on the tubing though. Shim stock is a good idea. I will try that next time. Good Luck, Charlyg
