Just coil it up. Be sure not to kink it. Its not a wire but a liquid filled tube.Charlie

Chevy started using electrical temp senders with an actual wire in '56. Before that they were the capilary tubes filled with ether.Sometimes NOW are the "good old days"...

The capillary tubes can be shortened, but you have to send it out to a gauge repair shop.

I have convereted to aftermarket mechanical gauge, but would like to use the original. It plugs into the engine on the right, very front. The tube for the aftermarket gauge will not hook to the original gauge.
