Thanks cffisher, I bookmarked that one and will spend some time there.
XIs a spring mount, but I have solved the problem, I just made one. The trick on re sizing worked great.
I have cut off the spring perches to make them fit to the new springs, any advice on setting the pinion angle?

I see CF is steering you towards a page from AFCO. There is SO Much good info in the AFCO tech pages you may not be around here for awhile. Nice job CF.Last edited by ~X~; 12-06-2006 at 08:00 AM.

With leaf springs, the usual method of changing the pinion angle is to put tapered shims between the spring and the spring pad on the axle. Measure first. You may not have to change anything.I have cut off the spring perches to make them fit to the new springs, any advice on setting the pinion angle?Jack

"The usual method...." I had to cut the spring perches off to bring them in one inch each side. I now have it all together with the ubolts not quite tight, but snug and I need to get the pinion angle as close as I can so I can weld them back on.

Does this sound right?
At what point in the suspension travel should it be done at, ride height? Jacked up, suspension unloaded?
Thanks -M
