Years ago I had a '68 Mustang sandblasted. Never again. For the longest time sand was coming out of all the hidden places. I would turn on the heater and sand would blow out, or slam a door and sand would fall out. I vacuumed, blew it out with air, swept, etc. but it took forever to get rid of it all.

Media blasting looks cool to me, and I see they do it all the time on Overhaulin. Whether that is because of time constraints and they have to speed up the process, or that they just like the way it preps the body, I don't know. However, the body does come back as bare metal, minus the rusted areas.
