    Tire rub on one side.........

I have coil overs on the rear and on the passenger side it is rubbing, but not on the driver's side. This only occurs while driving. I have plenty of clearance when it is parked. Both are adjusted the same. Do I need to put a stiffer spring on the rear or do I just need to adjust the spring some more?

You could try taking it up a couple of turns and see if it helps, is it squatting down and then rubbing? Hank

    adjustable panhard bar needed?
    or jack up or lower
    coz the nonadjustable panhard
bars will change the way your rear centers
if you jack/lower your rear end

Not sure if my panhard bars are adjustable, never really paid that much attention to them before.

I would assume that the rub was squating down then rubbing. I had rode some family members around at a Labor Day picnic when it happened. I have rode people around before and it didn't occur.

Also, I have had the car jacked up recently, and plus the transmission was recently rebuilt and the had it on the racks.

I can take some pictures of the rear end if it would help.

Thanks for the replies so far!!!

You will not have adjustable panhard bars. One adjustable panhard bar is all you will have.

Do you have a 4 link with coil overs?

    Thumbs up

    Youther,

Welcome to the world of Sedans!

This is just the balance of making a Sedan look good at parked/ride height...and then loading up the back seat when someone wants to tag along for the fun.

After one of my coil-overs snapped in half, I installed the Shockwaves as a replacement. After 3 years, I have had zero problems and the car has never road better. If the back seat fills up, I simply add air, and we are on our way.

As for your car, measure the distance between the tire and the fenderwell on both sides. If you were an 1/8" inch closer on one side, it would explain rubbing when you are loaded down and going around corners.

Nevertheless, unless it happens alot...I wouldnt worry too much about it. We have always thought it wasn't low enough until something was rubbing!
