UH, NO TO WOOD.

Funny story. In the '50's we didn't know what the H we were doing for the most part. Cars were kinda crude at times. (not all, but some)

Friend of mine had a '53 Ford that he swapped a Chrysler Hemi into, about a 1954 engine. He couldn't find appropriate spacers for the engine mounts, so he drilled holes through pieces of 2 x 4 and used these as spacers. Every time he would get on it the 2 x 4's would crack and fall out. He used to carry a supply of predrilled 2 x 4's in the trunk.

Lumber only has one place in a car..........use it to block up stuff while you are mocking up the car.
