Yeah i was gonna say the same thing, isnt that the reason people use a one wire alternator

Yep, they're right. You can remove the regulator and all that related wiring, and simply run a #10 wire from the batt or + post on the alternator to the positive battery terminal. That's it. No switch or anything needed.

I've contemplated doing a one wire change then someone sent me this article - anyone care to have some imput to help me decide.

You are overthinking your decision. Put a one wire on it and get it done. I ran one wire on my roadster for 7 or 8 years of daily driving, have had one on my Jeep for 3 or 4 years, and am going to install one on both of the projects now in my shop, and probably every one to follow. Already have the one sitting ready to go on the T bucket.
They are simple to install and you don't have to worry about the added component (regulator) and where to mount it. Plus it eliminates a lot of extra wires.
