They sell trailer brake accuators that mount on the trailer frame which act like surge brakes. I have this set up on mine. I also have a wench there fore a 12v power suplly on the trailer at all times. Should the trailer get loose the brakes are applied automaticly. Never needed them but they are there. Don't think the insurance Co. would understand having a car and trailer going through a house or injuring some one. Lots of weight there.
