My '51 Chevy has a bad socket for the liscense plate light, last year I put a self grounding push in replacement socket in ( let it sit right inside the old socket ), but I had to bend out the tabs and use tin foil to make it ground, and now it does not work any longer due to rust forming where I grounded it, so I'm seeking new replacement sockets that will work, I found these that ron francis makes, and it can take an 1155 bulb even tho it is made for an 1157 but they are interchangable, i would need a 6v equivlent of the 1155 because the glass is much shorter compared to the 1157. I went out to the tail light panals I got from the '83 240D I had, because I knew they had 1155 bulbs and 1157 bulbs and I made shure they interchanged. these sockets are expensive, 17.95 a peice, but I found these, I think could also work, also made by ron francis but these take a 1077, and I'm not shure how tall the glass on a 1077 is. any suggestions
