Wiring issues, GM HEI with one wire altenator
I have a Chevy 350 with a standard HEI ignition and a one wire alternator.
Problem!! No matter how I wire up the coil (tried directly from the ignition switch or thru a kill switch ) the engine continues to run......
I assume that the alternator is providing the power.
Does anyone have access to a schematic of a one wire alternartor system? I am updating from a points system that used a ballast resistor.

you may need a one way diode in line w/the alt, that way the electric can't feed back & keep the mtr running...joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
