My entire floor was replaced and the front end is not the original. I am going to have to buy a title somehow, somewhere. I'm not concerned about buying a VIN plate. Both would be fantastic, but I really only need a title.
To answer the above question, If you have the title to the car but the VIN is gone, just go get the registration and tags. I've never heard of the BMV checking for the VIN to. The title is all you need to get it registered and on the road. I would just stamp the VIN numbers from that title on the frame somewhere, just in case. That puts the two together.
