I just reg my project here in So. Cal. I had the title all the reg cards from 1960 to 1985 which was the last time it was reg and also had both plates The car has been in the family sence it was new DMV still made me get the vin verfied before they would register it..... and on top of that they would not let me keep the old plates on the car at that time........ So when I get the new plates I have to take them and the old ones to DMV and turn the new ones back in and have the number changed back to the old platesWhat a pain!!!!!!!
So in my expirence you'd be better off with both.......
