The 302 is pretty bullet proof, and if you're happy with the performance don't change it. THere are too many unknowns at this point it sounds like. Fords are one of the toughest trucks on the road. Check out www.ford-trucks.com (click on fourms), there is a whole section devoted to the old iron.
