Oh when you lay it out do it upright, like long ways front top to bottom all parallel so not as much moisture gets in there. Also use some duct tape or I think even better, the aluminum tape you can get from home depot and do all the seams around the stuff so moisture doesn't get in there. Wear rubber gloves if you can because that tar stuff underneath can get pretty messy and hard to get off your hands and clothes.
