2 qustions about chrome and sandblasting

    Peace,

woud it be better to sand or sandblast the sheet metal on Ol' Betsy? even the inner fenders. i also plan on having them 'flip' the car and sandblast the under side with the chassie off. and sandblast the chassie. which would you guys perfer
    and 1 more question.

on average how much would it cost to rechrome all the side moulding including bumpers and door chrome on a 57? i plan on it being triple platted chrome. at least! just a ball park figure

yep, don't sandblast if you plan on having good qulaity bodywork done later as the blasting can 'work harden' the sheetmetal that make sit hard to straighten and weld later. The softer media that techinspector1 mentions is the go.

Another option is chemical dipping, although a less than perfect job can result in chemicals oozing out later on and ruining a good paint job.

I spent days and days with stripping wheels on a power drill to strip my car's underside.
