  1. so it is a column shift ? i would not have...

    so it is a column shift ? i would not have thought so .. i dont think there is anything you can do in the column ..
  2. unhook the shift rod and see where the slop is .....

    unhook the shift rod and see where the slop is .. if the trans is ok there should be a noticeable click and some resistance as you move the shift arm attached on the trans ..
