Pat, Cometics at 0.065" would put the squish at 0.039". I would run that on a smaller bore motor all day long, but I'm not sure...

The first thing I would do is nail down the exact compression ratio. You need to do that to pick the proper cam and you need to know the specs on the proper cam before you choose a converter.
