Billy zz,
They'll work fine. My son has a 9" rear out of a '77 T-Bird in his sedan with 2.75 gears. They aren't great for launching at the drag strip, especially if you have tall tires, but they are a good highway gear for mileage. I have 2.79 gears in my coupe (8" Ford rear) and they are fine. Again, they are highway gears. If I was going drag racing on a regular basis I would try to find a lower gear, but for cruising around these are fine and give decent mileage. Both of our cars are fenderless '31 Fords on homebuilt frames with 350 Chevys.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
