Well the frame is a roller now, finally!!!!
Enjoy the pic.
Looks good, you've been busy!!!!
Thanks Dave, Yep busy would be the word. Now I can get back on the body being I can now roll the chassis outside and keep it out of the overspray and dust.
Got the body in color this weekend.
Here's couple of pics.
Larry
looking great larry.
Thanks Barb for your kind words.:3dSMILE:
The body came out very nice, dang near time to put it together for the last time!!!
Still got to run brake lines, wiring, undercoating, e-brake, put in the dash, and I know theres other things I cant think of at the moment but yes hopefully this will be the last time it goes together..
:3dSMILE:
Well done man on the paint job. I did post a comment yesterday about your progress with a tongue in cheek comment on your colour choice but somebody must of thought it wasn't appropriate and deleted it. Never mind, what I asked is is the grandchildren still going to allow you to put some miles on it before they get it first??I believe that was what you were building the rod for??
Whiplash23T, thanks man.
On the grdkids, yep, the oldest wont be 16 for 6 more years so I should be able to put a few miles on it till then....:D
Dont know why someone would delete your comment, I dont get offended that easily.......:3dSMILE:
Anyway I appreciate your words on the paint job.
Larry
Did you make these axle leaf mount brackets?
Yep:toocool: Made from 1/4 flat steel, doubled up on the spring hanger for extra striength.
I just joined the forum because of your build. It is a great build. there is a lots of good ideas, and info here too. That is just the forum I want to be on. I would love to see how it comes out.
Looks great! You did a great job on the body & paint.
the hot rod is lookin great larry. i really like that i-6.those little things at the end of a build can take a lot of time. that s10 was rittled with little things that are hard to get to,hahaha, its all fun though.just aint nothin like it.
Aint that the truth geezer. Seems as soon as you get one thang done two more pop up......... but its fun as you say.:D Wont know what to do when I finish it...... :confused:guess just drive it ......heheheheheh:LOL:
Paint came out very nice. I like that military olive drab color!
Yeah, you're right. it does give it the classic look. .. And all this time I thought is just me and my Army background........silly me.......:D
z'd original frame, put Speedway motors new dropped front axle kit in it with vega box, complete drive train came out of a 1988 z-28 camaro, even the driveshaft was perfect length. Used camaro rear suspension also. Only $650 in original truck and about the same for the camaro. cheap build. chopped top 3 1/2", cut 6" off bottom of truck and channeled 6" over frame for real low look.
Very nice daytonagary.
Start a build thread and share all your photos with us. Just go to new topic under the Rat Rod section, title it and have a go at it. We would all like to see more of your build.
Larry aka Crazyrat
I am going to set my body back on its frame tomorrow being there will be enough people at the house to help me. LOL.....I wont feed them till they help me:D
Will post a few pictures when it looks like a ride again.
Happy Thanksgiving folks
Finished up my I Scream truck and now back on my 48 Plymouth coupe. I'm doing good; health is holding up, job is steady, family is good. I'm grateful; the Lord continues to guide and bless me daily so I try to be obedient.
How about yourself? The truck looks really good. I love old straight sixes in these kind of rods.
