More progress was made today. I got the other seat done, while done dreamed up the head light supports and shock mounts. I also set the rear 3 windows in and got them ready. We still have some work to do when the body goes back on, so the windows will be dead last.

The top filler appears to have a double crown. Did you use metal from a later vehicle, and if so, what did you use?

No man, the top filler is a sheet of metal. Thats all, nothing too fancy.

Dude, we are so F-ing close I can taste it. So here is a run down of where we are at. We have 37 days left, and hopfuly we will not need all of them!

Here is a list of parts
    Body 1800
    1940 axle 100
    Dropped axle 350
    valve covers 40
    parts car 400
    air bags 100
    grill 40
    radiator 65
    calipers 20
    4 link parts 100
    steering col 20
    wheels 15
    tires 540
    shocks 75
    steering box 50
    gas tank 20
    brake master 100
    steel 50
    headers 40
    carb 25
    -----------------
    $3950
    - 100 sold cat
    - 140 sold axle
    --------
$3710 Now I still have a ton of parts that I am going to sell once I know the car is all good. I am thinking that I have 500 to 800 bucks in stuff I can make a fast sale on. Witch will bring us back to the 3 grand mark. I new 2 weeks into this that we were going to go over it, but there are some things you need to buy new for safty reasons. I am going to drive my wife around in it, so I am not useing old tires and brakes, parts like that that should be new.

Looks like a fun little car. Using the frame for onboard air is a trick I learned 4 wheeling. I used a air pump out of a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I hard wired in with a simple on/off switch and pumped to a boxed frame. It had an inboard gauge that I used to keep an eye on the amount of air pressure when needed. It was great for airing up tires after a day of 4 wheeling.

Yeah the frame tank is a old 4x4 trick. We were thinking of using an air tank, but why when we have that nice big frame. There are no plans for a compresor, we will just fill up the frame and call it good. After all the bags are for the ride, and they were cheap. It's made to sit level with air in the bags. When they are flat the car will sit too low in the rear.

    Movin right along........
I do not see how you can resist the urge to clean and paint and make it shiney
Its a downhill process for me once I touch things....
It starts well ,let me clean the grease off that soo I do not get dirty, better get it all off,so it looks uniform atleast, now that all the grease is off it looks pretty good,....but it would look better painted and shiney, I will just hit it with the brake clean so its clean,Hmmmmm now that its clean all its lacking is some cheap spray paint and it would look brand new,,,,,,I have a little paint left in that one can, spray it on and bam shiney new part

Thats pretty much why I am on year 4 of a engine swap
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

I was thinking that at 1st, but all the parts on this car look like they have been togather for years. I do not belive that this car will ever be painted....while I own it.
