A few pics I snapped last weekend ....just because I had a camera in my hand.

In an attempt to get better gas mileage, I swapped the 750 carb and high volume pump for a 600 carb and stock fuel pump.
Truck still runs decent even with the smaller cam and carb.
It ran a best of 8.74@72 mph in the 1/8 mile at the Dixie Dragfest. I couldn't leave at anything above idle or else it would blow the tires away. I made 8-10 attempts at a decent launch and then quit trying.
I'd be curious to see what it would run on slicks mounted on 15 wheels.

Looks great sitting on the strip!
Heck Flip your truck looks so cool and those big hoops and rubber bands really suit it, And that sir is a compliement as normal big wheels and little tyres like that only suit late model cars but ,man you have nailed that prefectly. Love the finished paint job too.
I DIG this truck!!!
That truck looks good with those big wheels,,so different in style to most other big ones....Flat deck suits it too..
To me they have the same visual vibe as white walls and 50's wheel covers.
Not 100% the same thing, but wide white visually make the wheel diameter larger and the tire smaller.

yes those wheels look good on your truck and I do love that finished paint job... I have been following the build thread of your boattail roadster too but have noticed that you haven't posted lately is because you are enjoying your summer months now and too busy fitting in all those hot rod drive ins etc.???
Took it to the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY. It was freakin' hot!

Oh yeah, it looks like I finally figured out why the truck was getting crappy gas mileage. The big chrome fuel pump was pushing gas past the needle and seat. I put a stock fuel pump on the truck and my gas mileage jumped from around 8 mpg to 15!
I don't think I will get much more out of it with 20's and the overall aerodynamics of this truck.
...over 5,500 miles on the truck now.
Went to another Frog Follies (3rd year with the truck). It was a great show. I had to drive back in the rain though...couldn't stand to ride with the windows up (no air), so I got a little wet. In some ways, it was kinda fun.
Truck now has over 6,600 miles on it.

Hey Flip, it is only water and it wouldn't of been deep enough to drown in.
In some of the photos of your truck it looks like it has windscreen wipers so are they there to just add weight to the cab. I have noticed looking at alot of photos of rod runs over your summer months that alot of people don't worry about wipers on their rods, that is something one couldn't get away with down here as we can have all four seasons in not only one day but more like every 2 to 4 hours at times.
Now that it is your fall season, (autumn) get back out in that workshop so that we can see some progress on your boattail.:3dSMILE:
The wipers do work. It was the rain that came in through the open side windows that sucked. With the windows rolled up, it was a sauna inside the cab.
Here are a couple of pics I snapped this weekend.
