Great contacts to get a hold of. Thank you.
I prefer too much HP guys. I raced 360/410 (750-800 HP) dirt winged sprint cars for many years, so I like loss of traction fun.
Besides, on occasion's that I drag race, with good slicks, chassis set-up and throttle control, 600 HP/TQ is fine.
But I do agree, that anything over that you just can't use.
It's like Sammy Swindell (World of Outlaw driver) has a aluminum 410ci that's suppose to be over 1,000 HP.
Way,....to much to get down on even a fast tacky track. (unless it's 2 miles long) lol
Even though the cost is outrageous,....the newer aluminum Shelby FE or the two other Side Oiler manufactures iron or aluminum blocks may fair better than finding a original Side Oiler.
Finding a "Good One" is very difficult and may cost about the same after machining, sonic tested etc...
I don't have the 12-15k to spend on any of the renowned FE engine builders complete engines, so if I can get a new block, have it finial machined and buy, say the 482 cube kit from Barry, it might work out well. Barry's new FE head looks awesome in flow etc....I haven't seen the cost yet ?
A friend and I can assemble the motor with no problems.
What's your thoughts ?
