You're about 44 years too late. My first car was a '51 Merc tudor. The VERY first thing I did before driving it home was remove the original skirts...............who wanted to look like an old man!!!
Oh, BTW, paid $125 for the whole car............rust free, So Cal car, cherry original interior, recent rebuilt engine, good tires, brakes, paint, yada yada............just a good ol' 11 year old used car.

Sounds kind of like my first car, a '52 Ford ragtop for the same $125 except it was an Ohio car with a fresh flatty and overdrive.

Bob, did the same thing with a 51 Bel Air Hardtop. First thing that went were the skirts. Don't even know what I ever did with them. Funny what we did in 62.

I'll dig out the molds some day when I am out at the warehouse, might have a pair there I could try on one of my Mercs and get some pics for you. I'm sure the molds are going to need more work, then I'll have to figure out some form of attachment to the car.... But yeah, if I get it done I could certainly make a few sets extra. Up to my-------elbows in work right now, but I'll get at it eventually....
