    Here's one way out.

    Harley mirrors with the shaft cut down and re-threaded.

    Pretty good quality mirrors and they beat the heck out of the re-pro 32 mirrors.
    Available at P&J Cycles.

    I've done these for several cars.
    Model A roadsters use the threaded mirror shaft to replace the lower FH bolt on the windshield stanchion.
    Both on 29's and 31's.
    32's require a threaded hole in the windshield posts.

    I can get a P&J part number if it would help . . . they have a website and are a good outfit to deal with.
