I took it out because ac just restricts performance, it took up room, and why do i need a Ac in a convertible? Does anyone know what it is worth?
The reason I said what I said was from a value standpoint because if it was in fact factory installed, it's probably rare and probably would add up to 1k on the book value, but, if it's dealer installed, it isn't that much of an increse. I'd bet that it was factory installed and would probably be a rare option for a convertible Galaxie in 1963. I do agree with your reasons for removing it but ya might want to check out, you'd be stupid not to. As for how much it's worth, it's going to be worth more to a restorer than a hotrodder because there are new aftermarket A/C systems that are much more efficent, I'd say that if you did decide to sell it, I'd try for at least a grand.
