A word of caution. Please familiarize yourself with Hydrogen Embrittlement. It is a condition facilitated by processes to metal including electroplating, such as chrome plating. Free hydrogen atoms can act as little chisels inside the metal, causing cracks and failure of the structure. These free hydrogen atoms can be baked out of the metal following chrome plating, but it must be within a 4 hour window following the plating operation. The present condition of human greed and corruption begs the question of whether the parts were baked in time......or baked at all. I'm simply trying to make you aware of a possible tragedy if the whole mess comes unglued at freeway speeds. Personally, I have never used nor will ever use any chromed components in the steering, suspension or brakes of anything I build, simply because I have no idea how the parts were prepared.

My son had to walk away from a brand new house he had a contractor build for him, losing a quarter mil in the process because the contractor used Chinese drywall. That makes me wonder where those chrome pieces you're looking at were made.
