Your moldings are anodized which is a form of plating. It is NOT paint. Here's a link to a site that sells a reanodizing kit, and has instructions for chemical stripping. www.caswellplating.com
Also, you can check with plating outfits in your area to see if they do, or know of someone who does, anodizing.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
