Hi, we are restoring a 65 ply. The side moldings have clear coat I believe it to be that. Anyway does anyone know of a way to get this off so we can get to the aluminum under it? We have tried steelwool, extra find sandpaper. We have removed some it, but that to much work and time.The aluminum where we have got this stuff off looks new. Want to do all the trim moldings Anyone have any ideas????

have you tried paint remover:confused:
Your moldings are anodized which is a form of plating. It is NOT paint. Here's a link to a site that sells a reanodizing kit, and has instructions for chemical stripping. www.caswellplating.com
Also, you can check with plating outfits in your area to see if they do, or know of someone who does, anodizing.
Yeppers..........Bob would know about those mouldings......they came out about the time he was racing around town , terrorizing all the local females:D :LOL:
