    Base coat finishing

i just finished shooting my base white and blue stripes. i have been 1500ing lightly between each coat but it leaves slighlty visible scrathes. do i need to go to a higher grit or use some sort of compound on it, or will the clear hide all this?

There is no reason to sand between base coats, spray your 3-4 coats and clear.
Base wasnt made to be sanded between each application, if you preped sanded good on final sanding , just tac, seal and spray the base and then the clear.
