Hi gang,
I am new to this site and just happened to stumble across it during a search for info on the heads I have on a SBC 350 that I am in the process of prepping to rebuild. It will be dropped into my 57' Chevy Shortbed Stepside Pick Em Up.

I have lots of plans for this project, which I am just getting started on after having it sit in my driveway for nearly a year. LOL Can't rush into things you know!

I have had a bit of experience in the mechanical end of things, as well as a good many years in the electronics world, ( designed and installed pro sound systems) as we all know it is a rapidly changing world and new technology is happening around us My last project I undertook as a major item was some time ago.

Now I have the time to do what I love the best, but I have only kept up with the automotive technology on the surface.

I am looking forward to delving back into the world of faster women...... Oh wait wrong forum LOL.

As I was saying, back into the world of Hot Rodding and engine build up's.
My truck is a complete stocker at this time, with an inline 6 cyl, standard 3 on the tree, staight axle and kingpins with drum brakes all around.

I have already picked up a 74' Camaro front clip with 11 in disc brakes, the 350 cu. in. complete engine, less intake system, the rear differential, and some of the needed replacement trim.

I plan on building this block into a 383 stroker, backed by a TH400, and setting a Dana 60 with 3.73:1's under the bed.... yes I know some of the Chevy truists just shuddered, but the price was right, and it has already been prepped with Currie components!

I do not have any misplaced ideals as far as a rapid completion date for this project, unlike my expectations as a youth. Don't we all have to realize these things as life goes on around us?

I do have some questions regarding the heads I have though and as of yet have been unable to locate the specs for them and whether they are worth keeping or dis them and buy new.

They are on a Canadian block, that was a truck motor, chased those #'s and it is a one piece rear main, 2 bolt block and was F.I. the casting numbers for the heads are 14102193, and have 1.94 and 1.5001 valves in them, what I need to know is the chamber size and flow of these heads.

This going to be a daily driver so I am not going to be very radical with the cam and compression, but I do want "some" performance out it.

Any help you Guys and/or Gals can toss my way is appreciated.

Glad to have found this site, as I have read a good many questions and responses.

Happy Rodding,
Jim
