Actually it wasn't just Plymouth. Alot of manufacturers put them there. They didn't start moving them to the other side of the fire wall until between the late 50's early 60's.Originally posted by 54Belvedere
Moparmadman,
I appreciate you reply. Let me tell you about my 54' , I recently bought it around 2-3 weeks ago and i drove it home i have every piece of chrome and all the glass is in perfect shape. Igot more than a steal and i really got lucky because the only cancer on the car is in the floor board on the drivers side right above the master cilinder you know how plymouth put them under the drivers feet.
But I know what you're talking about. the only holes from rust in the entire car is in the floor boards on both sides.
In mine it's just below the dimmer switch between the rocker and the floorboard. 3 holes not much bigger than a .50 cent piece no less than a dime. it's like that in the same spot in the passenger side as well.
Someone was telling me that they now have a spray weld system that patches the holes and kills the rust. I'm gonna look it up to see what's what.Any dolt with a Torch and Welder can customize a car.
Real artists use what God bestowed on em.
