A know a few people who have rebuilt them. Just like a regular internal combustion engine it just takes a few tries and research. There's quite a few around still. Fuel economy was a huge deal breaker in the continuation of the rotary. The rpms are nice (mine is set to 9000rpm) make a fair amount of power and the cars are light. Just not a lot of torque.
