New guy from CT but not new to hot rods
Hey, My name is Big Jim born & raised east coast style. Been into car's (since birth I think) if not; not long after. I'm am currently working on a 34 tudor that I'm un-street rodding and making it more of a hot rod. It's a glass car (not everyone can afford real steel). I've been tinkering with cars for years but I don't claim to know everything in fact I ask a lot of questions. After all that's how one learns. I consider myself one of the luckiest guys on the planet because my whole family is crazy for cars. A future project is a 33 Chevy coupe for the wife. With 2 projects I had to pick one and the sedan can fit more people plus it is farther along than the wife's coupe. I'm also a novice welder, fabricator, & metal finisher. I love to tinker & work with my hands! I custom make aluminum emblems & plaques. I do custom resin casting in 1/8th scale as well as some full size stuff like clear, red, and amber lenses (yeah I'm pretty diverse). Looking forward to participating.

You'll find lots of knowledge here. I look forward to seeing your project..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Welcome to CHR, Jim. When you get your post count up some (above ten, I think) it'd be great if you can post some pictures of the current & future projects. For future reference - http://www.clubhotrod.com/shop-talk/...tml?highlight=Roger

Jim,
What process do you use for your aluminum emblems & plaques? Do you have a CNC type machine, or something in that family?Roger

Big Jim, welcome to CHR! Definitely sounds like you are a busy guy with all the happenings. I look forward to seeing pics of your tudor as they seem to get over looked due to all the love for the coupes.Ryan

When I was out of work I needed to make some cash so I cut out all my emblems with my scroll saw by hand and filed and polished them by hand. I know not the fastest way but I had more time than money...Oh and I had no projects at the time so there was no hot rod building either. Things got rough but we made it through. If you really can't wait you can look me up on the HAMB under the same user name to see what I'm workin on.

Thanks 40forddeluxe. I show love to "all" old cars coupes, sedans (2 & 4 doors), off brands, uglies, It's all good to me. When I press the go peddle the smile is just the same. I also never got the hatred towards glass cars. Just as much fun @ half the cost puts an even bigger smile on my face. Don't get me started on the Deuce guys. There is way more to life then 32's.
