As far as engine/transmissions for that car, the sky is the limitThe engine bay is pretty big. I would not try to keep the Fordomatic though as most larger horsepower engines will "kill" it fairly quickly, particularly if it is set for a six cylinder - plus it might not bolt to a V8 (I've forgotten my Ford bell housing patterns).
What are you limited to in Holland as far as vehicle modifications is another point. I know that some European countries will not allow major changes. Next point is what will your wallet handle as far as costs. We can make all kinds of suggestions, but the item price plus shipping plus customs duties can be prohibitive.
