The copper one has a Mustang II front suspension rides like a dream and also looks very good "I Think". The Copper one is a Small Block Chevy and is very reliable and streetable and a pleasure to drive. The red one is Ford powered and is just miserable, this is the last car I will build with Ford power, the Chevys are just to easy and cheap to do as well. Good luck on your Coupe!!

Got the engine running. Rebuilt the distrib, fuel pump, carb, changed the oil and filter, new plugs, new fuel tank and lines, a little gas and it started up like it was running the whole time. Almost pissed myself when it fired up. I picked up an 8.8 rear out of an explorer and got my suspension ordered from Poises. Went with the "In Da Dirt" for the front and the bolt on adjustable rear leaf setup. Got disc brakes for up front and the rear disc came with the rear end. I need a Dual master cylinder and to order new brake lines. The body is coming off the frame next weekend. I am keeping the Flathead and dressing it up for now. I am setting the car up so when the flathead bites the dust, then a big engine gets to replace it. Going to go with custom smoothies in the front and rear.

I found when doing my car, I just had to get a roll of brakeline. what are your front disks f? is the explorer metric fittings? if you haven't made lines before, it isn't bad...with practice. when I did mine, I used regular steel line then scotchbrited the hell out of it and cleared, made it look nice even though it's nothing fancy. you going to use the explorer e brake system too? try to get us some pics. I like seeing all these fat fendered cars on here, as I'm still working on mine so I'm sure I can get a few nuggets of info too. good luck

The front brakes came with the front end kit i got through Poises. I probably could have used some brakes from the junk yard, but I didn't feel like messing with that. I am not sure if the explorer brakes are metric or not. Where did you pick up all the fittings and steel line?

For those interested, I have taken the suspension apart and mocked up my new Poises suspension with the explorer rearend. I finished coating the suspension and frame with POR-15 and i am happy with the results. I ordered all my engine stuff and kinda got out of hand. I have an 3x2 offey with 3 holley 94 setup with a progressive carb link. I also have some new offey heads for the engine. Got the engine on a stand currently so I can clean it up and paint it ford red. Looking at getting some deep dish smoothies with coker white walls. More to come in a few days

cool good to know thinkgs are still happening on the project. Amazing how it can get out of hand. Well I just about have all my metalwork on my 47 done. I scored two cherry rear doors from a mordoor, cut the bottom third off the door skin for new 1/4 panels. All trim holes are filled and I hav built a door sill where I had none. I need to take some progresss pics. Will you be together for this summer?

[QUOTE=Itoldyouso;365892][QUOTE=KOULAIDE; I posted a pic under my profile of the car.

Son, clean that baby up and drive it! It's ready to go. Have your 70 year old buddy get it running, flush the tank, service the brakes, and use it. Nice looking coupe.

I second that idea. Just drop that nose down a few inches.
