    Hi Guys,

    Thought I would join up.
I was having trouble with the carby on my 307 im 1975 HJ GM-Holden Ute.
A ute in australia is a small pick up.Not like the monsters u have in the States.Although u can get them here.
I found a lot of useful info in forums.
Hey, I could post a pic of my pig of a car if any of u guys are interested in what our Utes look like.Could be wortha a laugh!
    Cheers guys,
    regards
    Shane.

I heard of a fella that wanted to get into Australia, and was asked at Immigration if he had any previous criminal convictions.
    His reply?
"I didn't realise it was still a prerequisite!"

Just kidding you Ozziute, you'll enjoy it here.

    Ta for the welcome guys.
Yeah well I guess AUS and the USA have a common early history.
Both countries settled by the Poms.
    Both in ships.
Although U guys on top of the deck.
Us guys down below in chains.possibly rowing.
Both blew the crap outta the locals.
    Set up shop.
    A few years go by.
U guys build cars.damn good ones.
    We invent a bloody clothesline!!!
    Now the footy.
Adelaide made it to the semis and got rolled by The West coast Eagles.
Oh and did u guys know. The general never gave us electric windows till about 69-70.
U guys had em in the 50's or so.
    Cheers

OH i forgot to say about carby issues.
I took of the 450 or so holley coz it pooed itself.
    I chucked on a 600 vacsec.brand new.Paid $425 AUS for it?
    Ripped off or what?Thats about $2.50 US i think.lol.
Anyway the car fired up but would die if i booted it.
    Plus running rich and alsorts.
I found out that i put the vac. advance tube on the wrong spot on the carby.I put it on the carby plate at the bottom and blocked the one on the metering block is it?
This made it idle fast etc.
    What a backyarder I am.
Found out it should go the other way.
Set the timing to 8 degrees before TDC [is that about right for 307?] Goes Wicked!!Phheeeww.I was just about to get my old 327 from my failed 67 Pontiac Parisienne [cheap ass oz version of a Bonneville I think] project goin in case it was the motor.
    Bloody cars!!
    Cheers
    Shane
