The "K" member was for cars.

The 727 was standard issue for automatics in trucks and MOPAR cars as well. MOPAR did come out with a 904 tranny also. These were used in the slant 6's and 318 with a light weight body cars. Like the Signet, small early Darts. Just a light weight tranny for light use commuter cars. The bell housing is identical but the tranny pan is shaped different. keeping the tranny cool is a big help for these. Especially in a truck.
