Bob, I'm excited for the day I have to decide which project to move forward on while having a car in the driveway ready to cruise . Do you still have a '36 roadster?

Where do you find the time for 3 project cars? I am having trouble finding time for just one. Seems like I just finish with one fire when another one pops up.

I don't find that much time.........................that's why they remain projects!

Hey, it's easy..............................all you have to do is live to be an old fart! Yep, I have been doing a little work on the '36 roadster today. There's a long story not to be told here, but working on that car pisses me off every time I get under it so my motivation isn't real high (which is exacerbated by having running cars in the driveway), but I refuse to send it out of my life. I'll just keep chippin' away on it til the day all is resolved.

This week I've been sorely tempted by yet another project. Several years ago I saw an internet ad for a '29 Model A sedan project that was fairly far along. I just loved the lines of it. Whomever fabbed the '32 chassis to fit the bottom of the A body did a very nice job. The stance was pretty good, and the body had some subtle tweaks that made the car even more interesting. The car was located somewhere back east (Ohio or Indiana I think), but had a pile of good, detailed pictures. I forget now what was in the way, but it just didn't work out at the time to make a deal. A couple years later it showed up again, same car, same condition, on ebay. I had just gotten the '36 three window, so couldn't bring myself to add another complexity to my life. So, earlier this week I find out the car is for sale AGAIN, still at the same level of incomplete project, but now it's right here in Washington! And again I'm out of room and not really bucks up enough in my car fund to add another rolling pile of parts. But this thing just keeps coming back into my life for some reason................

I know what you mean about NO TIME Uncle Bob. I noticed I haven't done anything of substance on the "Z" since..........July. My son Jeff bought a few J-bend tubes and we fabbed up some 3" exhaust for his camaro the last couple days. Cat delete with cutout and a wide band sensor.




meanwhile mine gets shoved in the corner of the sign shop. I'll get some time for my own stuff one of these days.

Bob does this car by chance have air bag suspension? The reason I ask is some years back my dad had one that he started to have work done too in Arizona and the bags were one thing that I can remember from pics he sent me. I believe it was in black primer when he traded it for 56 chev delivery wagon.

hope you can get past the bitterness of your 36. These things are enough work without something like that hanging over you every time you try working on them.

No, it has typical coil overs in the back. I've been saved! The seller worked hard, even bombed the price another couple grand, but I just don't have the room, so now some guy in Portland has bought it. Maybe he'll get it done finally...........or maybe in a couple more years it will pop up again to tempt me.

Yeah, I'll get back on it hard again some day, but in order to fix the biggest problem I've got to do a body removal AGAIN which I just hate with finished paint work done.

Being able to make comments between pictures is done by using photo links (such as photobucket or the like) and typing comments between the links.

As for the trim on the hood, if it were mine I'd paint the strips body color. That would give texture without distracting. To my eye both the black and the polished stainless would pop out too much interupting the visual flow by stopping the eye. At the front or on the bottom the black works because it forms a visual frame on the perimeter, but in the "middle" of the body they're a disruptor.

I don't know if I would have ever thought about painting them the body color. Thanks Bob.
