I missed that deal Dave. When did your truck get vandalized? Your right, a little chat with them would be a good thing. Maybe explain to them how stooooopid doing stuff like that is. I'm sure it would make you feel much better too.

On a side note I welded up some gussets for the outriggers this afternoon. Just about ready for paint. The project is winding down, my got to do list is getting shorter & my want to do list is getting closer.

A couple months ago....had it sitting in the front driveway, just never noticed it til lately. Have picked up on some rumors of who did it....Hoping they'll goof up and brag about their "daring exploits" to the wrong person and it gets back to me.....

I like the outriggers, hate it when stuff gets all tippy and I'm way up in the air!!!!!!!

Wow....big plus. I found a fuel tank that'll fit without re-modifying the rear frame rails. Tanks makes a nice EFI tank for 64-68 Mustangs. I'll be able to mount it directly to the bottom of frame rails. Perfect. I like it when stuff starts making sense. This will be a Chevy, Pontiac, Corvette, Ford, Dodge truck when finished. LOL's. Anyone have any acronyms that'll work with the above? LOLs.

These Mustang tanks are seen in a few frames . How would you figure they made them at such a perfect width .

    Bobby,

I've been racking my brain trying to find something that would work without chopping up the frame again. I had a tank made and all I can say is it was very square and didn't look right hanging below the frame. I wanted something with round edges. While I was roaming net for OEM stuff I found a site that had the measurements and surprise, there it was, 64 Mustang tank. So I cruised over to Tank Incs site and sure enough they had them to with the Walbro EFI pump. Perfect. And I love how they mount......bolts all the way around the tank on the flange.

Heck, this was one of many reasons I set the truck to the side. Just couldn't figure out what to do without loosing the bed floor to an auxillery tank.

Going to shop to get the dimensions for all the AN hoses, power steer pump, trans cooler lines, fuel lines, etc.

Ordered the correct length column from Jegs, the sway bar parts from Speedway Engineering, C4 coil over relocate from Speedway Automotive, and misc LS stuff from Speedway Motors. LOL's. There sure are a lot of places that start with Speedway.

I'm anxious to get the column in so I can get back after the headers.

I got the front of the truck back into shape, sanded everything and hit it with a coat of epoxy primer. The hood is ready, just needs a coat of primer/sealer and paint. Oh yeah, got bored yesterday and decided to french in the front license plate, too. Also have the racerback fairing and the tailgate primed.

Lookin' good Dave. I guess the bright side to the whole deal is it gave you an excuse to make a couple more modifications.
I'm one project closer to getting back on the "Z". Got the scaffolding deal pretty much done. Shop needs a good cleaning & the "Z" needs to get pulled out of the corner.

Got stuff pretty much done on the trailer & painted. Just a few odd jobs to finish up.

Tore the outriggers apart today & gave it rattle can paint job. I took pics. of some of the factory safety & instruction decals, pealed them off & made new ones to include stuff for the home made attachments.

Stuck a few on the attachments too, to make them look official.

It's a tight fit but it all clears what it's 'spoz to..

Made a little re stricter plate to slow down the bucket. Now I can hit the lever & not worry about going too fast. I should have done this a long time ago for the post setter. When your pickin' up a 20' 4''x6'' by the end it can travel pretty fast if you aren't careful. Shouldn't be a problem Ann E. Moore.

Still have a punch list of things to do, mostly on the trailer, then this deal is done & ready for Spring work.

Before I put it back on the trailer I thought I'd put it to the test. Nothin' fell off. . I guess that's a good thing.

That's really neat!!!! If the people on the stand don't do stuff right you can just dump them out!!!!!

Looks like it should get you right up there to a good height to work at, how high can you get the platform?

Yeah, had to change a couple things on the front of the pickup, reworked the headlight openings in the grille, too. Also have to decide if I want to build a different bumper or maybe just some nerfs on the front?? any good ideas??

    Thanks 34_40.
Dave, about 12' with these backhoe forks, about 6' with the standard forks. That should cover just about any sign install I have to do.

    Charlie and Dave,

I have a huge pile of bends from Speedway. Enough for 3 sets. Was going to make Dustin a set for his Camino. Thanks for the links. I never would have dreamed JC Whitney would have those in stainless. I'll compare their prices when I make some in stainless.

[edit] I found the best set up was with the "you make" street rod kit they sell. There are a lot of 120 degree bends which I used the most of.

    Pro,

When I first saw the size of that basket I was wondering how shaky it would be at full height. Then I saw the pics with it extended and tilted. Slick engineering there! Of coarse I'd expect nothing less from you with some of the cool custom stuff you've made for the Camaro. Wish I had access to tools like that. I'd route myself a plate for my headers that would say, "DG Headers". Eat you heart out Edelbrock and Hooker!

I now have #1, #3, and #7 primary's done and within 3/8" of equal. #5 will be easy and would've had it done but Dustin needed help changing out the front axle knuckle joints on his Jeep. He was trying to get the joints out without pulling the axle. Bless his heart. I felt sorry for him and helped him out. It turned out to be quite an ordeal. 20 years of rust. Yikes. I told him in the future at the very least get a Chiltons manual. It would save him a lot of wasted time and money for damaged parts from trying to force something out the wrong way.
