That color is beautiful, Don. I think your running boards look really good, I wouldn't change them.
Yours looks great, too, IC2!
You'll get there, Bobby. just keep pluggin away; one section at a time. You'll be done before you know it.
I thought about an aftermarket grille, Steve. Just thought I'd try my hand at building one. I'm not crazy about it; I'm going to try and put some expanded metal behind it and see what that does to the looks.
Man Don, I really like that color, and the running boards are cool and will look good anyway you have them. A good idea IMHO, won't be very long and you'll be doing some all day cruising in that beauty.
IC2 your car is looking fantastic also, Dave that yellow jumps off the screen, I bet it really pops out in the sun huh? Very nice.
Wow, ok I can see some orange in that last picture you put up. That is really cool, sort of a pearl or something, very cool. The paint nowadays is getting better and better. I'm going to have to hide my car with it's scruffy 2 year old paint!HeHeHe!
Very cool, now what color is the "I Scream" going to be Falcon, I may have to repaint my car before bringing her out just to keep up with the jones!
My father used to work for an airline interior panel company, he was a color matcher, he had given me 2-lb zip lock bags of pearl, red, blue, gold and green. Now it only takes about a teaspoon to mix into a gallon of paint so I m set for several life times..
Brick, I'm going for basic white. No sense in over complicating matters.
Got the motor back from the machine shop tonight so now I just need to order parts. Everything turned out standard; this thing was in great shape inside. I decided just to make another panel for the side of the hood. With everything being flat and bent at straight angles on this thing; it's been great practice for making panels. I drilled out the spotwelds, cut a new piece and after a few trial and errors on the brake, it came out pretty decent.
Front end looks sweet falcon, and the grill is a good look, everything blends together nocely huh? Very cool.
Haven't had time to work on the "Z" lately but I did get a chance to finish up the lettering on a friend of mine's F/C yesterday afternoon. Sorry Dave, it's a blown alky BBC. I put the name on it after he had it painted towards the end of the season last summer, then it kinda' got sidelined over the winter. I did the lime green accent stripe with one shot enamel. That was a lot easier when I had younger eyes. Everything else was done in vinyl. It will be on display at the Drag Expo in Schaumburg, IL coming up in March, so we wanted to get it finished for that and the upcoming season. He's also been asked to appear at "Pinks All Out" this summer @ Rt. 66. That's a June date I think.

I took the last shot from the opened garage door. Camera picked up the falling snow.
Great looking lettering and car--despite the BBC....
Nicely done pro, you have a good touch. I bet that car hauls the mail huh? sweet.
Hey Pro, I don't suppose you'd come over and do my trailer without having to charge a little mileage, huh????:D:D
I got a few hours in today; these side braces were pop riveted on so I drilled them out to 1/4", put 1/4-20 bolts in and welded the nuts on the back. I'll use stainless bolts when I put it together for real. Also got the block and heads painted, and finished cleaning up the welds on the piece I made for the center console. There's a ton of room in this thing but I still have the headlight and wiper switch to mount. Maybe I'll put a cigar lighter in to take up some space. I dont want it to look too empty. Ordered all the rebuild parts for the engine so I should be putting it together this week, too.
They also make some really nice looking allen head screws that would look good on the side brace, used a bunch of them on my '71 pickup under the hood for the inner fenderwells, etc. The little things really make a difference... Wouldn't have a nostalgia looking clock to put in the dash, would you????
