Just Bought a 67 Merc Monterey Ragtop

Added a ford to my chevy stable... Sort of- Its actually a Merc, and its a BIG merc too!

There are some more pics i took yesterday from where i found it in my album here:
    http://www.clubhotrod.com/photopost/...er=489&thumb=1

The guy had $4500 on the for sale sign, i got it for $4k today when i pulled out a giant wad of $100 bills.

Nice car- Needs some interior cleanup, Engine tune up, brake tuneup, and body/engine detail- but other than that, its a real nice solid cruiser. Looks to be origonal 48k mile car. the guy i bought it from had it for 5 years- didn't drive it much, pretty much sat in his garage. He had bought it from his brother- who owned it for the 5 years before that (i got his name and number so i can ask questions about it) and a couple years before that their OTHER brother who ran a used car lot owned it (also got his name & number to call and ask questions on)
So anyway- got quite a history on the car.

I was too busy out cruising around today with the top down to take any new pics... I'll take some tomorrow and post em.

I'm thinking about throwing some 15x8 cragars w/ RWL tires on it to give it little bit more of a hot rodish look to it... But the factory hubcaps & white walls are growing on me too...

My old(sold it 2 years ago)1968 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 ragtop had fake cragars on it- and they really MADE that car....

I'm thinking they will do the same thing for the look on this car too. What do you guys think?

15" Cragars, or factory Hubs & whitewalls?
