I guess I've been livin' in a cave! LOL..
Never saw anyone sanding / shaving a tire.. ( yes, I'm shaking my head.)

Yep, we're all different. I learned something new today. Not my cup of tea but have fun if you enjoy.

I can't agree with ya there. Hot Rods are so many things to so many people who like so many different things. I don't think it's possible to simply catagorize and label it.
I think it's like lighning in the bottle.. or like you said earlier, different strokes for different folks.

I wasn't being, nor intended in being critical of someone smoothing a tire, it was just completely new to me. Never saw it before / Never heard of it being done / and stated same is all.

I'll crawl back into my cave now!

Have you got room in that cave for me too?
I'll give you a beer if you let me in.

I too have never heard of sidewalls being shaved; the only bloke I know of to take to his tyres with a knife was Burt Munroe...but only to cut a tread because he couldn't afford new ones.

I fail to see the point to it.
    (shrug.)
    But to each their own...
