C'mon Jerry, it matters not even a little bit if you're "upsetting" me, so don't try to lay the blame on me for your decision. I'm just one of the only guys who doesn't back down when you start diverting a thread with general "factoids" after getting called on tasting a bit of your own shoe leather. We're all trying to help Em get his Fairlane right, and your advice to "...backfill the system through the upper radiator hose" was bogus, but rather than simply saying, "Oops, forgot you had a stat installed and don't want to pull it..." we got into a historical discussion that helps no one. My opinion is that a coolant recovery tank will give Em more coolant volume, remove all air from the system, and generally be a better, more reliable system than just running a puke tank. No discussion about cross flow radiators, why OEM's installed expansion tanks in the early days, or anything else. Plain fact, my opinion is that a properly sized coolant recovery tank with the right pressure cap is a plus for every radiator running.

I hope you reconsider your "time out", but if not it's your decision and should not have anything to do with me being happy, unhappy, or not giving a damn, and for the record the latter is the case at this point in time. We're all big boys & girls here, or at least we're supposed to be.

Sorry for the hijack Em. I'll back away from this thread from this point forward. You're in good hands with others that are helping sort out the wheat from the chaff on getting your issues sorted out.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

If I may quote your own words, my valuable internet friend ?

I hate to see anybody get upset trying to help me out and, as I've mentioned before, I value ALL comments and suggestions but my follow up is ALWAYS based on 1. understanding 2. ability 3. pocketbook and all 3 of those especially #2 is very limited sometimes. My late great Drafting Supervisor used to tell me "If two people agree 100% on every thing all the time then one of them is not needed" and I don't believe we will ever have that here on Club Hot Rod IMHO, that's a good thing

However, it does kinda bother me that neither of you commented on my "P" bottle.

Perhaps it's appropriate - better than a catheter. I don't care if I never see another one of either of them, though.
