As I recall, at least one of the previous discussions about a similar axle failure was in a thread that Ken Thurm started about a roadster in his group that veered off the roadway and had a snapped axle - don't know if it was or was not a Magnum. I don't think they determined if that axle snapped, causing the accident, or if the break was due to impact. As Bob points out, one would hope that Magnum takes a pro-active stance and looks into the production run that this specific failed axle came out of, and initiates a recall & replace of any suspect units. The intro page to their catalog, which sings praises of the experience the two partners bring to the business, is quick to point out that their liability excludes any consequential damages, and is limited to replacing any component that they determine, after their examination, to be defective.
