I think if you look closely in your garage you probably have that hood scoop in there!

I found a pic last night of this coupe with a mopar shaker scoop. I really like that scoop, I just think it might look too "ricer". It looks out of place but maybe with the hood and scoop painted gloss black, it would look better? I'm not saying it doesn't look nice on that coupe, I'm just not sure it fits mine.I'm really leaning towards the 77-81 TA scoop. It isn't huge, and has a line down the middle that I can line up with my hood molding.

There's no turning back now! After I get the rails blasted, it'll be fit up time and then weld time! I think I might reinstall the inner pieces too. I have a plan to sleeve the inside where the cut I made is. I'll weld the sleeve in the frame so there is more structure and this will give me a place to rejoin the original inner pieces too.
I placed one rear fender on. I should be able to stuff some tire in there! There's 14" from the fender edge to the inner wheel house.Last edited by 40FordDeluxe; 01-13-2017 at 01:50 PM.

In that first pc of the Mopar Shaker, I don't see it as a good fit either.. I'd be curious to see it 180 degrees from where it is now.. HMmmmm.
I'd say the same thing with the T/A scoop....

With the TA scoop, I'm thinking of putting it back wards from how the TA's had them and maybe modifying the inlet. I saw a polished aluminum cobra jet scoop on flebay, but it might be too large.Ryan

I have one that I cut the inlet out of when I was 18 yrs old thinking it was cool, now I would like it back to original. If you have an unaltered one I would love to do a swap with you if your interested. I never thought about turning one backwards for a scoop, I think that would look pretty good.

When my scoop arrives, we could swap if you'd like? I purchased one off ebay and it is in good shape. I think reversed will give it a cool look and it would be like ram air.Ryan

Sounds good, when you get it you could show some pics and I can get a few more of mine. If it is a pita for you or you would like to cut yours up different than mine that is no problem. I have enough things going on where I shouldn't be thinking about redoing my hood scoop.

I didn't get anything done to the 40 this weekend. I got rained out on sand blasting. So, I'll have to wait until the end of the week for that. It is raining here and sleeting tonight into tomorrow. I did get sand and a new hood for the blaster. Too bad yesterday when I went to get my generator from my shop, I found my old hood.I guess I'll return the new one and get something else I can use.
I did finally get my other Excursion I have been owed for about 3 years. I have it listed for sale and can hopefully buy more parts for the 40 once it is gone.Ryan

I hear you on the rained out front. I actually finally got some time to figure out why my relatively new Harley battery has been flashing yellow on the battery tender. Turns out the negative charging lead broke off it's connector on the negative terminal. Then after fixing that managed to polish the oxidized lights on my MR2 and My 1998 Toyota 4x4. Started out wanting to get the 48 out of the garage and idling, but dealt with the more immediate issues first! All in all a good day the yellow light no longer flashing on the battery tender, nice solid green now. But priorities seem to stimmy fun along the way, and bleed the bank!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Beautiful high 60s here in GA, so I broke out the chief for a putt.. Must be contagious: my negative cable was loose too, it nearly melted the terminal off my $300 glass matt batt..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

This morning I tried sandblasting but the silica sand I got from Menards has too many rocks in it so I'll have to make a better screen set up for a funnel. The rocks in the sand kept plugging the tip on the blaster. What a PITA!Ryan

I'm looking for a floor shifter that would have came in a mopar with a 727, A518, or 46rh/47rh. Does anyone have any ideas? The early 70s stuff is kind of pricey. I could go with an aftermarket shifter, but I figured if I can save some dough on a junkyard part, I might as well.
In case anyone needs it, here is a wheel offset chart I found in my searches.
Wheel Specs | Wheel Specialists, Inc.
I was looking to see what my options are in a 17x9 wheel in the Rev Classic 100 and there are only 2 different offsets. 0 and 12. 12 definitely won't work. Hopefully the 0 will. I'll have to wait until the rear end is back in to get that info.Last edited by 40FordDeluxe; 01-17-2017 at 04:50 PM.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
