Phantom Studebakers
A couple of my friends from the Studebaker Drivers club brought their custom 53 Studes to the Good-Guys event in Pleasanton last weekend. These are cars that Studebaker coulda-shoulda made. But alas they did not, but good for Steve and Dick for the custom work. The little truck aka the Kart Hauler (it has a Go-Kart in the bed) was originally built back in 1957. Dick found it and restored it old school to it original custom self as seen in the 1959 Oakland Roadster show. Steve found the convertible languishing after someone had started the project and lost interest. It sat for more than 10 years I think. He bought it, finished the work including a Dodge Dart top and a Studebaker R2 Supercharged 289 from an Avanti. In any case these are two cars you might not see another one of anywhere. Just wanted to share my enjoyment
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Studabaker would of built them, they were just really busy that day and didn't get around to it!!!!! For the most part, they're styling was so far ahead of the rest of the builders.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Tech, I will make it worse for you.
It coulda been yours for $45,001. Dick put it on EBay and it did not make reserve, he sold it to a collector from Texas for $45k at this show.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
