Start out with www.oldgas.com. Pretty much the authoritative site that I see on old pump market. Georgia has quite the stash of this stuff around. Paid $400 for two 50s/60s era pumps that need A LOT of work but they are all there.

Bluesman
Bluesman...where you from in Ohio? Therre is a place in Tipp City that sells antiques and in the back of the store is nothing but Petrolinia. Also coming up I believe in the first part of the year there is a huge Petrolinia expo at Vandalia that brings people from all around to buy and sell. I'll try to find the website I have bookmarked and post it here for you. I did find this site that you can check. http://www.oldgas.com/classifieds.html
Here is a list of ones in Ohio you can check out http://www.oldgas.com/roster/oh.html
Here you go. This guy has it all http://www.oilsign.com/

Well the final stages are taking longer than we anticipated!
The tiling should be done next week along with the finish carpenter and plumber so the carpet can get installed.
We plan to move in the end of the month.
Have not done anything in the shop as we've been using it for all the construction activity.
Shop is next once we're moved in.
That's great news, what a great project. Did the TV show ever work out?
Pat
Man that shop/house/garage thing is so sweet man!!! That would be my dream house. I have always thought it would be sweet to own something like that with the old showroom and old cars in it and run a business out of it and then the house behind or on top of it. That right there would be like my dream house. Let me know when it's for sale. lol Got any pics of it done now or almost done? I can't wait to see the finishing thing and some inside pics.
This thread must come up on search engines pretty high up as it is THE most viewed thread on the site.
Just for fun, and to prove that no garage ever remains "big enough", here's a pic of our garage this weekend. What was built with the intention of holding 5 cars, and having some working room, is shown here holding 7!
If you look in the lower left you'll see the hood ornament of a buddie's '50 Ford convertible in the Cobra's normal spot. He's up visiting for the Goodguy's deal in Puyallup, and of course needed to be inside.
Cool pic Bob.............But if you drove that truck in there a tad faster I thnk you could find more room for a few more cars..........
Poor Bob...what a predicament you have...
I would be happy to help you out by takin' a couple of those "old things" off your hands...I hate to see you not have enough room in there! ;) :p
I don't think it really matters how big you build your garage, it always seems to shrink (or something), and there's just never enough room...:p
That would be the bride's Amigo..............don't give her any ideas!! (had to leave one stall for her:confused: )Quote:

But ya know? The crate and the boxes hit the recycling tomorrow, so, with a little effort we could put Brent's Fiat in front of the central vac real easy!!!;)
Hey Bob , you have a house for sale next door to ya ? I see a drill press and a blasting cabinet I could borrow :3dSMILE:
May be a few more tools I could use I cant see
;)

DW you'd be welcome anytime, that'd make two Kansans on the culde'sac.:3dSMILE:Quote:

And if ya look next to the drill press there's a 12" compound mitre saw..............................the perfect tool for dialing in your drive shaft angle! :p   (note to newbies, look at his gallery)
I know you want my drive shaft for that sweet 36:LOL:
I'll call it my " Beuferd Pusser "
Or Drive softley and carry a BiG stick HotRod .:3dSMILE:
Building beside the Monte is my toy room. It's small, but it keeps the weather at bay.
Well you guys have wonderful luxurious garages. Still, I "feel rich" on a modest retirement with a three year old home and a separate 12'x24' frame garage which was recently electrified with 220 v for a welder and lots of lights and sockets, but it is unheated. I guess I will try two or more of those oil-filled electrical heaters for the Dec-Feb days I need to work on my roadster construction. The garage is separated from the house by about 20' of open lawn but quite snug in spite of no insulation and maybe one or two of those heaters will allow me to work without getting pneumonia. I paid attention to several of your comments about potential fires/explosions with petrochemicals in a closed garage. My humble garage is tiny compared to yours but you have given me the idea to get a heater now that my Model-A chassis is done (coil springs installed yesterday) and the rebuilt SBC shortblock is on the stand waiting for heads and intake. I think the electrical work will be tedious and may require a long time so I cannot afford to lose three months of work. Well I have learned a lot from your garage designs and just thinking about this has led me to a possible solution. Originally I thought I would just putter around and take my time assembling the roadster, but the more I put together the more I want to finish it so if I can get in a few days work in the winter months without freezing it will keep my enthusiasm going!

We moved in back in July.
Though we recieved "occupancy", as usual there were / are a lot of odds & ends to complete the project. After we moved in, we took about a 6 week rest to try and regain our sanity.
The residence and showroom are done. Of course the cars are parked for the duration of the winter. Just now getting started on the "Shop". Since the entire lower space was gutted, we are starting with getting the walls & ceiling painted. Then we'll concentrate on lighting and electric.
It's a long winter here in frigid Wisconsin, so I'll have plenty to keep me busy.
The HGTV "shoot" is tentatively scheduled for spring. Hoping to have the shop done by then.
Unfortunately, anything car related has been on hold for the duration of this, though I did make a few cruise nights when I threatened to go beserk during the project.
Trying to post some pictures!:(
ohekk,
Long time no hear, glad your project is moving forward was wondering about it the other day. Can't wait to see the pictures!
Have a great winter

Holy BREAK PADS Bob!! What happened to that spacious garage ya had a couple of years ago???!! :D Didn't ya have around 1500 sqft. in it?Quote:

Looks like ya need to build UP or go under ground or go back to renting more space. Hey, better yet, bring the '36 down here and I'll take gooooood care of it for you...... :3dSMILE:
I hope to be starting a new shop/garage/father quarters here pretty soon so I'll have more than enuf room! I'm still trying to convince Brent that it would be better to store the Cobra here at my place but now he's got that new home in Duval with a 3 car garage so he has more than enuf room, well that depends if my daughter ever starts to liquidate her piles junk, ooops I mean antiques out of it.
I just saw this thread pop up again when Tom(ohekk) replied to a post and I got an email 'bout it, cool to see it keep on going.
Larry M.
 They're never big enough Larry! The '50 convertible was just in there for the weekend, and the Cobra went to a new home on Sept 1, so it's a little better now. Although the freed up bay is full of parts for the Dodge right now getting ready to load up and head to Vegas next week. A boy's work is never done!;)Quote:

Tom asked me to help him get a few photos of his house/shop project posted for everyone to see, so here goes...
Dave Brisco
and another...
and one more
That place will be sweet!!! Why is there a Mopar there and not a stude? heh. I still remember how he said that it was going to be on the show on TV and everytime I go by a home show thing I always wonder when it will be on. One day I was watching the same show he want's his on and I thought it was his because they were inside and showed all the windows and downstairs and looked similar to that but then saw the rest and it wasn't his. I think about that place everytime I go by the channels (which is everyday looking for car shows) because I wan't to see the whole place. Ever since I saw your plans on that place that made me wish I would be able to have something like that one day. That is probably the coolest house I have ever seen.... I have seen some houses too like Oprah's homes on VH1 show, etc and even though those things are huge on that show this one beats them all. Good luck with it man. Send some more pics of the inside if you can or have time. I really wan't to see them.
FMX,
Yeah the place is really cool! It is a car guys dream come true for sure!
It's been a lot of years and hard work to get to this place. Too bad I'm not about 30 years younger!
I can't begin tell you some of the horrid conditions I've endured to work on cars so this place is gonna seem like Heaven.
FYI: The HGTV "shoot" is scheduled for Spring so the show may not be aired until next Fall. The program is called "Building Character". Some of the homes featured on there are pretty awesome.
Today my brother-in-law and I will be laying tile in one of the rooms down in the shop. Walls are getting painted by my father-in-law.
PS...still no wine cellar...its a "Parts Room"!:3dSMILE:
I'll be looking for that show next fall...that shop/house turned out to be a great looking conversion! I'll bet it really adds life to the "downtown" area...Glad this thread came up again as we are working on building plans for an unattatched 2 1/2 stall garage to support my habit an hide some of those dang teenagers cars i've got floating all over my driveway...lookin like a used car lot these days! he he he! Any suggestions appreciated LOL!
I must have missed the thread where you said you were from Arkansas!:pQuote:

anti freeze making machine what r yall going to come up with next ??????????????????????????????????????
ohekk, I will be sure to watch that man. Hopefully if I miss it for any reason, it will come back on again.
Jerilynn,
Since you are in the planning stages and I'm not sure how cold it gets in your area...may I suggest heat tubes in the floor before you pour the concrete slab.
My father in law did this and heats it with a 40 gallon water heater. it sure is nice working when the floor is warm and toasty:toocool:
Caution: Take pictures of the location of the tubes and plan ahead
for things that might be mounted to the floor IE: car lift, Compressor, work benches. You do NOT want to drill holes in the concrete / tubes.
One more suggestion...Lots of electrical outlets!
Oh and go taller than the standard 8' if possible lift is in the future.
Tom
A heated floor would be sweet as hell in a shop. Nice black and whtie checkered tile with heat. I would sleep in there then.
No problem Tom, always glad to help...
Ahemmm... Uncle Bob, I guess that Arkansas joke just never gets old!!! :HMMM:
That's O.K. at least my anti-freeze machine is newer than yours...
Dave Brisco
I do it just for you bud!!;) :3dSMILE:Quote:
