    Cut out what you have and start over ---triangulate the mount from the top of the rail to the bottom of it and you will be fine---as a guide line I line up centerline of crankshaft with top edge of frame rail ( bottom of block on most engines)

    I did the same style mounts as you and also had the same feelings about the crossmember. You can kind of see what I did, I bent some tubing around the bottom. It seems really sturdy but makes it a little tight if you have to pull the engine and tranny out together. Hopefully I wont have to do that again though.

    Jerry with the factory mount the bottom of block is only about 1/2 inch below top of rail .

    I see and like Don said maybe just tie them together . Sean and yep it was poking at me also . May just go with the bar with the ford mounts there cheap enough and i'm cutting labor corners where i can .
