What a hoot! Man, that's classic! You have to admit it was pretty ingenious.
Too bad we didn't have video cameras back then; I'd love to see that.

It WAS a hoot Jim. We could never believe it when they did it. Worst part now that I look back was that those cars being junked were pretty clean cars ranging from Model A's to '50 Fords, and everything in between. 
What the heck was I thinking!!

Crazy
About 20 years ago we where running a Super Pro car twice a week.
One week we went to a drag-strip near Bethany Missouri and there was a car sitting with a hyd. jack under the rear-end idling about two feet of the ground with no jack stands under it.
Let's just say we did not pit beside that guy.
